For real property to be transferred in Muskingum County, a document must be prepared and submitted (1) in person), (2) by mail, or (3) via eRecording software.
If the property contains a metes and bounds description or is not a full lot in a subdivision, the document must be submitted to the County Engineer's Office on the third floor of the County Courthouse for approval. Please see the Conveyance Standards for more information. Once the property description has been approved, the document can be submitted to the Auditor's Office for transfer.
If the property is a full lot in a subdivision, the document can be submitted directly to the Auditor's Office for transfer.
The document will then be submitted to the Recorder's Office to be put on record.
